Dogs love it! April 25, 2010 Krystie Bithell (Orange County, CA) We order this for our two dogs and mix it with cibble. It lasts a long time, and the dogs just can't get enough of it.
Horrible Customer Service Leads Me To Question This Product April 16, 2010 Clementina 1 out of 5 found this review helpful
I have long heard about the benefits of a raw diet for dogs but have been hesitant to give it a try due to my fear of the potential dangers of the microorganisms that are present in the raw meat. I do understand that dogs have digestive systems better adapted to this sort of exposure, but I still have felt uneasy about the possibility of their getting sick at some point. I also refuse to feed my dogs any food that is not organic, and I was very happy to find that an organic raw diet was available. I decided to take the plunge and ordered over $100 of the frozen chicken formula, but when the package arrived I realized that I wanted to double-check with my holistic vet whether she approved of this company. Not only had my vet never heard of this company, she also explained the importance of safety measures such as using high hydrostatic pressure to kill any of the bacteria present in the food (yet not harm the nutritional value). I decided to call Paw Naturaw, and the woman who answered the phone informed me that she did not answer customer questions but would leave a message for someone to get back to me. I was very polite on the phone and simply asked what methods are used for assuring that the food is safe. I had already read on their website that they send a small sample of each batch to a private lab for testing, but I wanted to know whether they did anything else besides this one test. I was honestly very shocked and taken aback when they lady laughed at me in a way that was very condescending. I did not say anything about it but ended the conversation feeling incredibly angry and shocked that a customer service representative would act so rudely to a polite customer interested in their product. I still have not heard back from this company. The manner in which the representative acted made me feel as though this company does not really care about their customers, nor do they care about taking the appropriate safety measures. The fact that no one has returned my call only confirms my fears. I plan to throw out what I purchased (as I have not yet started using it) and will continue searching for a reputable company. My pets deserve a healthy and nutritional diet, but I refuse to give them a product that has potential safety concerns.
Doggy delight August 3, 2009 SlingingMercury (Santa Barbara,CA.) We have had our Jack Russell on various raw and home made diets over the years and these frozen nuggets have proven to be the easiest for us and most satisfying for our dog. She is about 20lbs and eats 5oz in morning and 5oz at night(2-1/2 nuggets). She is a high energy dog and gets lots of exercise(3 long walks per day) so we feed her more than recommended by Paw Naturaw. Each 56oz bag lasts us 5-1/2 days. This isn't cheap compared to prepared dog foods but our dog is 10 years old and looks and acts like a puppy and is very lean. Maybe I should follow the same eating plan!
Good Food for Dogs June 11, 2009 T. Gitter (North Hollywood, ca United States) I feel this is a healthy food for my dogs. The 2 oz. serving size is easy to defrost and eat. We mix it with a little dry food for variety. It's great to have this delivered to the door.
