THANKS FOR THE REVIEWS! May 6, 2010 SOMEWHERE IN TIME (USA) thank you all who took the time to write these reviews. i so wanted to try the raw food diet...so so tired of my beagle sophies allergies. i tried every dog/wet/dry food im sure just like all of you did....article after article book after book on what is in the food we're feeding our babies---literally wanted to vomit! ive been PETRIFIED to try the raw way. im so scared that i'll finally start to do and she'll get very ill then feel guilty for the rest of my life! i know we take that chance all the time with the commercial dog food and over time what that food is doing to our companions! but....its scarey ya know its so out of the norm....but i took the step and bought primal raw food from our specialty pet store. it was the nuggets....i defrosted just ONE my sophie has super sensitive belly. (i give her probiotics everyday) and few weeks ago i gave her canned rabbit from evangers they didnt call it raw?? but said its fresh then frozen and put right into the can with NO preservatives. well i gave 1/2 of a 50z can....and... :O( she vomited alll nite and the next day! needless to say i still feel guilty!! but knowing what i do about dry food and canned i just cant give that either....i do use "only natural" freeze dried veggie and chicken patties theyre great! but like the "all raw" its soooo expensive you cant feed just that! i came across this and read all your reviews and sounded wonderful! totally sold me...i do hate they charge soo much and i am concerned theres no reviews in 2010! im just hoping people are STILL buying and STILL USING! just not posting reviews??? if any of you who left reviews in 2009 and STILL using maybe you can write an update? that would be awesome for me and im def sure for others that are nervous as i. :O) thanks in advance! i did order this it came today...i was actually shaking while preparing lol.... but omg she was like a kid with candy! def liked tons more then primal!! but only gave like a tblspoon lol cuz concerned about her belly. can you tell me how you all started? how long did u wait till give ....alll.raw what do you give as treats? i bought stella and chwey treats their like ting meatballs all chicken i gave 3 (theyre real tiny) in a half hr had total diarrhea :O(....y im nervous ...ok i just realized i wrote a novel here !! :0O. thank u all for your time patience and understanding! signed the hopeful worried nut lol ~Dawn~
Perfect! April 18, 2010 Ms. P. (Chicago, IL) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We adopted an older 15# Chihuahua mix (Daisy) about 5 months ago, and it was clear due to teeth, coat, and tearing issues that she definitely didn't live on a high-quality diet in her previous home. Ever since I've been trying to get her onto a higher quality diet, but Daisy's been extremely picky and has turned her nose up at no fewer than 10 different high-quality kibbles and canned food. My mom told me "if she's hungry enough she'll eat," but I wanted to find something she'd ENJOY, not just eat because she was starving and that was her only option for food. I started Daisy on Paw Naturaw's dehydrated raw (beef). It took her a little while to really take to (she did eat it when it was mixed with Blue Buffalo canned (the only higher-quality canned she'll eat). Now, however, she prefers the dehydrated beef to the BB canned. I LOVE the convenience of the dehydrated raw, even though it doesn't exactly look appealing when rehydrated(but then again food always doesn't have to look pretty to taste good)! :) I thought I'd try the frozen raw medallions, and she now prefers them over ANYTHING we've tried - especially the beef! The medallions hardly take any time to thaw, and due to her size I could get away with only giving her 1/2 of a medallion mixed with her kibble for each meal. It's so... meaty! It definitely looks more appealing than the dehydrated raw, but because I have to remember to take the frozen out of the freezer and give it time to thaw, I'll still be using the dehydrated raw when I forget. Did I mention that I LOVE the fact that this food is organic?! Trust me, if you know how meat is raised and processed in our country, you'd probably go organic too. Daisy and I will DEFINITELY be buying more organic raw medallions in the future!
I can finally stop searching! March 27, 2010 Don R. Mcpherson (Tyler, Tx. USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have ordered the chicken, beef and turkey and my dogs LOVE it! My toy chihuahua has been fighting congestive heart failure for a year and a half, I've had to give him 2 medicines including lasix twice a day. Somedays I would have to skip the Lasix because of the cramping he would endure, then the congestion in his lungs would make him cough horribly. I mean this in all sincerity, in the 3 weeks I've been feeding my dogs this food I have only given him Lasix twice. He just doesn't need the meds anymore and I will be forever grateful for the improved life that I am CONVINCED this food has given him. My male and female Jack Russells skin problems are GONE...TOTALLY. They are both 12 years old and active, and even more so now. I love my dogs tremendously and I can't thank Paw Naturaw enough for the quality product they have put out.
natural and expensive November 2, 2009 Keebler (Suwanee, GA) Good product - high cost. If you do not have to be on a budget, go for it....
Thumbs up for raw dog food May 24, 2009 Jennifer Frazier My dogs love it. I warm the food in a bowl set in another bowl w/ hot water. I have read that some people microwave the dog food to warm it and I would only say that they are missing the advantage of feeding their dogs raw food if they nuke it. The value of the raw food is that it is RAW! Avoid any and all cooking or you might as well go back to canned.
